Been to both several times, and personally would pick Savannah. Charleston is nice, and bigger, but we really like the riverfront activities, restaurants, museum in Savannah. Weekends more going on. Riverfront live music at several bars/restaurants. We stay at Best Western downtown. Reasonable price, decent pool and included full breakfast. Easy walking distance to parks surrounded by historic architecture. Have fun!
