you mean stats that you believe are 'win focused'

as last year OSU was high in a number of stats that you don't consider to be 'win focused' last season and yet went 13-1, won the B1G and won the Rose Bowl.
OSU in recent years had fatal flaws that caused it to fall short of getting that terribly close to the ultimate goal of winning a national championship. Those flaws can be found in breaking down the stats. Yes leading in passing yards is something TTU and similar programs do. But having a passing game that doesn't make an elite opponent laugh is essential to winning a championship even if leading the world in pass yardage is now. Same thing with the run game...it is essential to have a run game that is effective in short yardage and in the redzone.
: 50 TD's at loser Texas Tech, or if OSU is chasing losers like Texas Tech, WSU, or many of the B12 teams for who throws for the most passing yards. You do not find NC's leading in most passing yards.
: Stats like Urban having the best win percentage in the B1G of all-time do matter.
: Stats like EzE having the most rushing yards and rushing TD's in wins over final ranked top 15 teams in NCAA history do matter.
: Stats like JTB having the most wins as a starting QB in Big Ten history do matter.
: Stats like JTB having the most wins as a starting QB in NCAA history against final ranked top 15 teams matter.
: Stats like the team that rushes for the most yards in the OSU/Michigan game matter.
: Stats like JTB having the most rushing yards and rushing TD's over a 4-0 career against SCum do matter.
: In none of that is a "style" contest, or discussing pretty stats put up in a loss.
: Carry on though. My post have been very obvious slanted towards most always "stats that are win focused". Every coach cares about those. When you lose those stats are meaningless.
