a relative downswing in talent at Alabama. He started at tailback his final year in Tuscaloosa but he was zero loss for Ohio State. No offense to Dave, but he wasn't going to play a lot at Ohio State in 1969. And, he was a good, solid -- but not great -- running back.

He started in '67 for Bucks and the next season he found himself behind John Brockington (played tailback as soph), Larry Zelina, Leon Hayden and others. To his credit, Brungard was elected co-captain at Alabama (1970).
