I watched the entire Memphis game & I don’t think I saw Penny Hardaway do any coaching at all. (m)

He stood there with a water bottle and stared most of the game. His assistants handled almost all of the timeout strategy.

It raises an interesting question for me. Is it more important to have a great strategist or a great recruiter as the head coach of a college basketball team? He gets highly rated players to Memphis. If he were at a true power 5 type school he’d get even better players. Think Prime Time at Colorado.

But it’s still weird to watch a coach do so little coaching during a game.
