If you look through that data, you'll see that degree subject is more important than the specific school. It is better to have a Michigan State Computer Science degree (ROI = $1.2 million) than a Stanford History degree (ROI = $150k).

But it is still true that the "elite" schools tend to have better ROI than other schools for the same degree. So it is better still to have a Stanford Computer Science degree (ROI = $3.1 million).
