...when MLB cracked down on sticky substances that helped pitchers get what they felt was proper grip on the ball.

regardless, pitchers are babied more now than ever and that doesn't appear to be helping.

: I don’t know if the rest between pitches is what they imply would prevent this or if the thinking is that technique & throwing motions are becoming sloppy & dangerous by being sped up?

: I’m willing to listen to their reasoning but I think they have to present some shred of evidence. It was a weird thing to blame without actual data.
