Is playing on a good team w/ good players with goal of championship even important to the college player anymore?

Or is it just a money grab and how the team performs is secondary. As rich as LeBron was he wanted to surround himself with greatness ( Miami Heat) Championship playoff, titles meant something. I guess I was hoping that Felix would have welcomed improving his OSU squad.
